Robert H. Hoover and Sons (Hoover Truck and Bus Centers) is a family owned and operated business founded by Robert H and Fern Hoover.

Beginning in the heavy construction industry in 1966 the Hoover's would work construction during the day, and work on their trucks and equipment at night and on the weekends.

Bob H. Hoover, Bob C. Hoover, and Douglas (John) Hoover were all graduates of the Mack Diesel Engine School so they knew their trucks inside and out.

Based on their knowledge and experience of operating on the anatomies of their trucks, the Hoovers saw a need in their area to purchase parts for their own vehicles and in 1973 they opened up a parts warehouse facility.

In 1980 Robert H. Hoover and Sons became a Diamond Reo dealer and in 1983 they added Western Star trucks to their line. In 2002 the Sterling franchise joined the family and in 2009 Freightliner rounded out the Daimler Dealership trio.

In 2012 seeking different opportunities Robert H Hoover and Sons proudly took on the Blue Bird Bus franchise for all of New Jersey.

Over the years the Hoover's have served on many trade industry boards and committees. Bob H. Hoover was the Chairman of the Construction Carriers Conference from 1976 through 1978. Bob C. Hoover served as the National Chairman of the Western Star Dealer Council from 2000 through 2012 and was a 2005 ATD Truck Dealer of the Year Nominee. Douglas Hoover is past Chairman of the Ocean County Car Dealers Association. Wendy Hoover-Schreiber is a CPA who worked for one of the BIG 8 accounting firms and is the current CFO of Robert H. Hoover and Sons. Wendy is a 1990 graduate of the NADA Dealer Academy and served as the National Chairwoman of the Western Star Dealer Council from 1992 through 1994.
